Letters to Philadelphia Society for Promoting Agriculture, 1840-1845.

Two letters, one dated December 16, 1840 and the other undated, are to Nicholas Biddle from James Peddler, editor of the Farmers' Cabinet. Peddler encloses an advertisement for his Eden Hill Farm Institute, near Bristol, Pa., dated July 20, 1842. One letter addressed to the Society, dated 1844, describes Prouty & Mears' self-sharpening Boston centre-draught plough, and a note to Aaron Clement discusses entering the plough in the Society's competition. A letter dated 10 December 1845 addressed to the Society continues the discussion of this plough.
